I am Australian, but have a business in China. I have been here about 8 years now. I have also lived 4 years in Japan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am curious about the idea, but not sure if it is for me. I like meeting people and like traveling but so busy these days that it all seems like a pipe dream. Maybe I can host if I can get my wife to agree. When I was in my early 20s I traveled a lot and was shown a lot of kindness along the way, so would like to repay some of that.

Interests

I am interested in many things. I like to listen to TED talks on many subjects, but especially about science, technology, society and the future. I am interested in health and diet and also in keeping relatively fit.

I enjoy business and I think it is the only way to go.

I am of the rock and roll generation and like Bob Seger, the Eagles, Pink Floyd, Led Zep etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Was one of the last backpackers to travel the hippy trail overland through Asia. I was in Iran when the revolution broke out and got through Afghanistan the year before the Russian invasion. Sailed a 17 metre yacht from WA to Bali with 5 companions.
