Living here in Austin for 3 years for grad school at UT. Writing my thesis about understanding the relationship between wellbeing and sustainable development, and examining applications in urban policy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in the past, but I'd like to reciprocate by hosting somebody the day I have a place of my own and a roommate willing to co-host. In the mean time, I'll show you my favorite places in town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed couches in Austria (Innsbruck, Linz, and Vienna) and the US (Austin and LA), and I would love to host someday so that I can show them around my city and be part of someone's travel experience. The times I surfed were enjoyable and I look forward to doing so again in the future.

Centres d'intérêt

I'm somewhat of a foodie and homebrew. I obviously enjoy city planning, but I also have an interest in anything that can relate to the built environment, whether it's architecture, geography, or theory. I studied Music History in my undergraduate and am very interested in classical music, especially modern/contemporary. I'll listen to all music if I can find something in it to appreciate.

Otherwise, I enjoy swimming and running a lot, and being active/fit in general. Soccer is another interest, and like watching international soccer in particular. HIstory and theory of many types also interest me.

Ultimately, anything can be interesting, though. It all depends on whether or not you can relate to it.

Movies: Haven't seen too many movies in my day, but some of my favorites include - Wings of Desire, Airplane!, Diabolique, Dead Poets Society, Koyaanisqatsi, Wait Until Dark

Music: Steve Reich, Bach, Kraftwerk, Big Gigantic, Daft Punk, various electronic music, Joao Gilberto, Sufjan Stevens, Jack Johnson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Röyksopp

Books: Grad school isn't the most conducive environment for reading fiction, but I enjoyed reading The Sun Also Rises, Siddhartha, Whitman, 1984, Brave New World, and The Odyssey. Nonfiction is kinda long, but highlights include Aristotle's Ethics, Campbell's The Power of Myth, and Ross's The Rest is Noise.

Watching the sun set in Nelson Park, Vancouver on a sunny day is one of the most beautiful things to witness.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Everyone has something that interests them, that they're good at, or are experts of, so share them! It can come in any shape or form.

To make things easier, however, I am always interested in the food and beers of the places I visit, and can cook a mean scrambled egg breakfast too.
