About Me

I am 19 years old, half Australian and half Maori, and I have been vegan for the last 3 and a half years of my life. I’m part of ARAS - Animal Rights Activism Sydney - and it’s a big part of my life.
I also love photography/any form of creating art, listening to and playing music (I play the saxophone and sing), swimming/sports, and eating good cruelty-free food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling in August this year, and am looking to make my travels as cheap as possible by staying with other people. Also I love meeting new people, sharing stories and world views, and I feel like this'd be a great way to make friends, learn a bit about the place I'm staying in, and travel cheap!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the bands HAIM, Jinja Safari, LANY and CHVRCHES. I also like Techno music, rap, classical/orchestral and most other genres!
Some of my favourite movies are: The Untouchables, Star Wars, Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
I absolutely love reading, and my favourite books include 'Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk' by Jean-Christophe Castelli, 'The Flock' by Joan Frances Casey, with Lynn Wilson, and the Shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater.
I also adore poetry, mainly that of Allen Ginsberg and Sylvia Plath

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015 I travelled to Japan on exchange, and lived with a host family for 11 months. I went to a private Japanese school where I took all of my classes in Japanese. I made amazing friends who I still keep in contact with, and I was able to experience Japanese family life with two younger host siblings.

What I Can Share with Hosts
