About Me

I hail from the little town of Palmer, Alaska and although I've attempted to leave a few times, Alaska always seems to call me back.

I am currently traveling with my dear friend, Joseph, throughout the eastern United States. Although I have been a couch surfer alongside friends, this is my first solo account.

As a recent college graduate, with a passion for researching shorebirds, I am on the hunt for a good time while I wait to begin grad school in the fall. Just letting loose and learning lots!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because it allows me to more thoroughly immerse myself into an area than if I was isolated in a hotel room. Some of my best experiences traveling have been when I have just meet local folks and gone exploring.

Interests

I love to ski (Nordic and Alpine), hike, bike (just purchased my first full-suspension!) read, read, read, bake and boogie!

Music, Movies, and Books

Although I love a wide variety of tunes, some of my favorite artists include, but are not limited to, Paul Simon, the Black Keys, the Alabama Shakes, First Aid Kit and Josh Ritter.

Some movies I've enjoyed include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and House of Flying Daggers.

I adore John Steinbeck, Tom Robbins and about a thousand other authors. I am currently reading a Michael Chabon book (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have watched all 23 James Bond movies.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people anything they'd like to know about stable isotope analysis in terms of shorebird migrations and, I also know a good knock knock joke or two.

I'm always interested in trying new things so I'm ready to learn!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts a network of fellow Alaskans who would love to host in Anchorage and take any daredevils into the mountains.

Countries I’ve Visited
