About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We want to turn our home into a global hub, where my kids can learn about respect, diversity, and understanding from people all over the world. Our goal is to help them grow into openminded, wise individuals, and we’ve decided to bring the world to our doorstep.
Having guests from different places fills our home with a travel vibe, great stories, conversations, food, and laughter!
Our door is open to everyone, but we’re looking for someone who enjoys spending time with kids, is comfortable around cats, and is happy to hang out with us. We also run an English club for students every Friday afternoon, and if you're staying with us, we’d love for you to join in and share your story with them. It’s a great way for the students to learn from your experience!
ABOUT ME
We love meeting new people, making friends, and exploring different cultures and perspectives. Sharing stories and having good conversations brings us happiness. We also enjoy taking you to try local food and just relaxing and vibing together.
PHILOSOPHY
Do good to others just as you would like good to be done to you
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I’m happy to welcome females or couples, but hosting male is more challenging for us, as we have young children. While I’m sure it’s safe, I just want to be cautious as you’re a stranger to us. If we feel comfortable, we might accept male guests, so please try to convince us you’re a kind and trustworthy person. Please take a moment to read my profile before sending a request, so you know what to write. I won’t be able to accept requests without pictures or references, so please make sure your account is verified first.
It’s much easier if you’re fluent in English, as it helps with conversation. I hope you’ll take the time to share your culture, stories, and join us for meals. I may not always have time to show you around the city, but depending on our connection, I’ll gladly help with your trip plans and suggest places to visit.
I’d love to teach you some basic Indonesian dishes that you can recook back home, and I’d also appreciate it if you could teach me how to make a dish from your country or one you enjoy cooking. I’m trying to add more to my dinner recipe list. The wet market is just a 3-minute walk from our house, so we can get all the ingredients there. Let’s go shopping together!
Interests
We enjoy hosting because it allows us to hear diverse stories and build connections. Through experiences like Couchsurfing, We have encountered inspiring individuals with great stories, genuine hearts, and impressive skills.
Music, Movies, and Books
I only listen to music when I’m driving or doing chores, and I’m mostly stuck in the 90s or 2000s. But sometimes I throw in a little Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo, it doesn’t hurt. I read random books too, usually family themes or biographies. With the endless sea of new titles, I mostly pick up books if they’re labeled ‘bestsellers’ or if a friend recommends them. Go ahead, judge me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One remarkable achievement I (Teti) cherish is winning a children's storybook competition organized by the Ministry of Education.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We’d love to spend time with you, take you to try local food, and enjoy good conversations. We like having dinner together, sometimes cooking at home or ordering in. We’re happy to share travel tips to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable time in Jakarta.
Our house is conveniently located near the MRT station and bus stop, making it easy to get around. You’ll have a private room and bathroom for a comfortable stay.
