Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I didn't realise I was on one up until now...
ABOUT ME
I'm friendly and make people laugh... at least in Dutch I do:-) I try to be as open minded as possible, to learn from every situation and everybody I meet. I like to discuss on virtually any topic and I am interested in learning about new things. However I can be fairly stubborn in discussion I'm learningtrying not to:-)
PHILOSOPHY
Try everything you don't know, don't attempt anything you can't handle..
Couchsurfing isn't cheaper, couchsurfing is richer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have spend 2 weeks surfing the couches of Montreal before I found my own place there... It was a delight meeting new people and seeing places that would otherwise remain unknown! I have hosted a bunch throughout the year and did some surfing myself whilst on trips. Right now my Dutch place is open for surfers from across the globe!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After my two weeks of surfing in MTL I have hosted numerous people here myself and now I'm looking forward to see if the community in my hometown is as exciting as the Canadian scene was! All of my experiences have been amazing and I cant wait to add some more to it.
Interests
I'm interested in sports (any of them although myself I only go to the gym), reading on various subjects (psychology, philosophy, politics and literature), writing, shooting pool, and learning new activities
Music, Movies, and Books
I like virtually any music I like:-) But that goes from classical to techno and pretty much everything in between... However I do think I am a special sucker for music that has a high women's voice...:s Lowlands festival in the Netherlands is definetely worth paying a visit!
Of the international books I have read so far I think '1984' made the deepest impression... at least it is way better than the movie!
My all time favorite movie, although a little corny, would be 'Into the wild' but 'Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy' and 'Intouchables' were brilliant as well!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have completed the (at the moment) largest Jigsaw Puzzle of the world:-) 24.000 pieces, that was pretty amazing:-)
The 'no pants ride'-phenomenom is one addict richer after I participated in the Montreal version of it in January 2013. Hah! The faces of people:p Every day should be no pants day!
New Zealand was awesome, just pretty much all of it.. nature, the people, the culture.. Best three months so far! Skydiving was good fun and rock climbing in any outdoor spot is an experience that's pretty hard to beat..
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak Dutch so for all you language hoarders out there, come and get it!:-) Otherwise I wouldn't really know what I can teach anybody... I'll let you decide. There's probably lots of stuff:p
And I know all to well how healthy living prevents Alzheimer, we should discuss this over beer!
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
