About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission? Where do I get one of those???

ABOUT US

I grew up in Houston, Texas and Alma grew up in Jinotega, Nicaragua. Through some mystery of divine cosmic convergence, we met in Wichita Kansas 6 years ago which is where we now live. I work as a software developer and play guitar in a band. Alma works as a social worker and enjoys photography and rescuing animals.

PHILOSOPHY

"No man, you gotta keep going. What am I gonna do, quit? That's not an option. You gotta keep on keepin on. Life's a garden, dig it and you make it work for you. You never give up man, that's my philosophy." - Joe Dirt

"You can't have no in your heart. No is not an option brother." - Joe Dirt

"One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings." - Diogenes

"I have a theory that you can make any sentence seem profound by writing the name of a dead philosopher after it." - Plato

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me (and you) to be here today, trillions of drifting atoms had to somehow assemble in an intricate and intriguingly obliging manner to create us. It's an arrangement so specialized that it's never been tried before and will only exist this once. Hopefully for the next many years these tiny particles will uncomplainingly engage in all the billions of deft, cooperative efforts necessary to keep us intact and let us experience the supremely agreeable but generally underappreciated state known as existence.

This is decidedly odd because the atoms that so liberally and congenially flock together to form living things on earth are exactly the same atoms that decline to do it elsewhere in a vast and unending universe.

But that's only part of what got us here. To be here alive in the 21st century and smart enough to know it, we had to be the beneficiary of an extraordinary string of biological good fortune. To get from protoplasmal primordial atomic globule to sentient upright modern human has required us to mutate new traits over and over in a precisely timely manner for a ... You get the idea. But you gotta agree that's pretty damn amazing!
