When I ask my friends, they mostly tell me that I am a straightforward, honest and reliable person. Personally, I would describe myself as being open minded and having a down-to-earth attitude.

PHILOSOPHY

To sum it up briefly: To each his own.
I think that we should let everyone live the way he/she wants to, as long as no one interferes in other peoples lives without permission. This way everyone can get the most out of his/her individual life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I just started I cannot say which part of couchsurfing I enjoy more and what I want to do here in the future. I think I will wait some time to fill this one out properly.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just entered the couchsurfing community, but i think I have already done "couchsurfing" before and I really liked the experience, especially the time I spent in England. I lived there for almost a month and I stayed with a number of different people I did not know before. I contacted them via a friend of mine and everyone I asked agreed to let me, a complete stranger, stay with them, just because a friend recommended me. This was one of the best holidays I ever had and when I heard about couchsurfing it just felt right for me.

Interests

I generally enjoy sports and I like outdoor activities like hiking. I also like to spend my free time having conversations with different people about all kinds of topics. I like playing the guitar as well, but I think that I still need to practice a lot to let other people hear what I do there.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy movies, especially the ones that do not blindly go along the standard hollywood script. I like movies such as "The pianist" as well as "Machete", so everything from emotional drama to trash if you like. Some other good movies I recently watched include: Lammbock, The green butchers, C(r)ook and Helden in Tirol.
Now music, let's see. Generally I like a wide range of music, although I mainly listen to electronic music at the moment and my teenage years were dominated by thrash metal. Here is a short list of some past and present favourites: The Beatles, Buena Vista Social Club, Sytem of a Down, Soulfly and the early Sepultura, Slayer, Nirvana, 10eme rue d'la Madeleine, Irie Revoltés, Seeed and several Dubstep artists.
I spent a lot of my childhood reading and I still like to do it in my free time. Here I also cannot list one specific author or book, so lets just say that I like reading because a list would become too long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Taking part in a 100 km march (Dodentocht, Belgium) and finishing it in 20 hours. Motivated by that I participated in the Four Day Marches in Nijmegen in the Netherlands and was left simply amazed. Absolutely addictive activity.
- The first time I was scubadiving. It was just incredible to breathe under water and to be able to swim for half an hour without any need to go up to the surface.
