Overview
About Me
I'm a trumpet player by trade, and educator by profession. I grew up in a small town in southern Arkansas. Very similar to "Mayberry," everyone knows everyone kind of town. I have always loved music, singing, playing, teaching. So much so, that I majored in Music in college and I currently teach middle school band. I'm a very simple man, I enjoy a good cup of coffee, the occasional good beer and cigar. During the summer, I like to road trip with friends or just take off for a drive by myself and see new places, meet new people, create new experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Looking to travel and see some places I couldn't afford to visit otherwise. Would love to meet some new interesting people. I'm an educator so I can share some hilarious stories from the classroom. One of my colleagues told me about her experience couchsurfing and I knew I had to check it out.
Interests
Music is pretty much my life: everything from EDM/Dubstep to Classical. Hip Hop to Country. Getting into fitness. Been a big guy my whole life, trying to change that. I like to go for walks and hit the gym. I'm a really into the karaoke scene in Dallas. If you like to sing karaoke, I'd be an excellent host. I have a spot for every night of the week.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like comedies and animated movies. Not really into dramas or horror films. As a middle school teacher, I get my fill of drama at work. I generally just relax by watching movies or videos on my laptops. Not much on reading Novels, I do enjoy reading for knowledge.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 20 years old, our college choir went to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The Miami Heat were playing the Knicks that weekend, and the Heat stayed in our Hotel. I am a 5'9" chubby guy, and riding an elevator with several men 6'4" and above, even Manute Bol who stood 7'7" was a bit daunting. Especially with my fear of really tall people... yeah that was a nightmare, but really cool at the same time.
For the performance, we joined the University of South Carolina and a few other schools to open for the John Rutter Youth Choir, which was composed of high school choir students from around the country. I have since graduated, and bought a home in Dallas. Last year, 2014, I randomly met a guy that performed in that John Rutter Choir!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm just a nice guy, that likes to meet nice people.
