ABOUT ME

I try to enjoy life as much as possible. And with life I mean friends, family, new encounters, traveling, art, music, food (especially a good Belgian beer ;-)) ... and many more.
I've been member since several years but it's only now that I write my profile because it's a challenge to tell about me in words ... I rather have a good conversation when I meet my next host or invitee so you'll know who I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Together with my wife we have hosted many people at the time when we lived in Brussels and Antwerp. But we also like to surf and meet new people in many countries. I also try to participate to CS meetings such as barbeques, drinks, ... .
Now we live with our 10year old daughter in a rural area not so far from Liege and Maastricht.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Until now it's all positive. I have met many cool people by hosting and surfing.

Interests

Art: especially photography
Culture: everything a country, city or town and its people can offer
Sports: such as running, cycling, diving, hiking, ...
Music: metal, rock, pop, jazz, blues, classic, electronic, ...
Movies: about everything but not the bloody ones
Food: it may be good cuisine with a nice wine but a good burger can also be very tasty
Traveling: enjoy new landscapes, cities and people

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: mainly thrillers, comedies, phantasy and alternative movies. Shawshank Redemption, Requiem For a Dream, The Holy Grail, The live of Brian, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, movies from Stanley Kubrick/Clint Eastwood/... and many more
Music: I love music but don't have many favorite bands, my taste is very diverse and I never stop learning

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My last great experience was a volunteer work I've done with my wife in a small Maroon village in Suriname.
We did art classes with them every day, not only to teach them about art but also to broaden their minds, help them with their concentration and creativity. But it was also having fun and learning from each other. It was for them something different than the every day live and work they had to do.
