Hello! My name is Thais. I'm originally from São Paulo, but I have lived in many parts of Brazil. After finishing my degree (Sociology and Journalism) I moved to Rio de Janeiro. Next year, I'm going to study in Madrid, Spain, in order to improve my knowledge about international journalism. After that, I´ll be back to my country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is the best way to really get to know a place and its culture, through sharing stories, food, and get together with people who know the fabric of their lands and enjoy welcoming exuberant travelers into their lives.
I intend to live in different countries for a long period to truly recognize myself in a culture and make friends locally, rather than being a tourist. However, nowadays I have limited time and money. I believe Couchsurfing is the best way to still achieve these goals, by making friends and going deeper in understanding my surroundings!
