ABOUT ME

Hello, my nickname is Gaew, grew up in the countryside of Ayutthaya, with passion of seeing the world. Love books, science, adventure, hiking, dogs, simple life, aesthetics and milk chocolate. Active when traveling outdoor and a bit lazy when being in comfort zone. Always smile easily as Thais are. Any pretty offers of grabbing a beer or red wine, chilling out with nice conversation and live music at a rooftop or outdoor or riverside bar, will be not refused :)

Currently, I'm working as a geophysicist for a UK marine survey company based in Chiangmai. My condominium is located on the first south ring road, 30 mins walk from the airport terminal and 5 mins ride or 30 mins walk to the south city's moat.

If you are social traveler, love nature, outdoor activities, eager in Thai culture and ways of life, street food, drinks, and be able to sleep on the sofa with the provided pillow and blanket, welcome. I might be able to host and show you some parts of Chiangmai night life on weekdays and hiking nearby on the weekends, when I'm in the town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is not only a free place to sleep but also for travelers who like sharing and interaction, hanging out, chatting, and be curious the difference of the world or others. It's awesome platform to make variety of new friends and know the city through local's eyes with open minded, not only through tourist attitudes.
I earned a lot of experiences, languages, attitudes and etc. as well as meeting several good friends here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

5-months journey from China to and around Europe in 2015.
Being a Buddhist monk for 33 days.
Taking an 18-hours ferry along Amazon river in northern Peru in 2017.
First time being naked in Russian sauna (Banya), drinking vodka and jumped into the cold Kartoon river in Altai, Russia.
Spending an overnight in Thar desert with soft mattress under clear sky, India.
Walking alone from town to its airport without a gun (preventing the white bear) in Svalbard's winter which breached the local law.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wanna improve my English and develop Spanish or Russian. Exchange with a couch, eating out at street food or probably a day trip in Ayutthaya. Searching for cool friends and new perspective of life philosophy. Gay friendly.
