Overview
About Me
Married to Richie who is originally from New Zealand. We have a daughter. We live on-site for a youth non-profit in a remote location in BC, Canada that is off-grid only accessible by boat or float plane.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love to travel, particularly to travel cheap and on back roads. We like to meet locals, hate "hotel zones", and to truly connect with people from other areas to have greater understanding of others' ways of life.
We would love to open our home at a later date, but currently only live in designated staff housing with the non-profit we work in a very remote location for so we can't open our home at this time.
Interests
We all love biking and travelling.
Richie is an avid biker (road is first love, mountain is second love) and used to do marathons and ultras until we moved to a location with no roads.
I'm more nerdy.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love documentaries, and tv about history. I love being able to see history in the architecture of an area. I'm not god at it in other locations, but in Canada, I really enjoy being able to see how an area was settled and try to figure out what industry brought the settlers based on the architecture of the residential neighbourhoods. It's like a mystery puzzle to put together.
I will gladly take on anyone in Ticket to Ride, and I will try to win but I'll pretend like I'm not. I know that's not a Music, Movie, or Book, but I'm not much into pop-culture and I'd much rather have a conversation or play a game, or watch educational tv.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Given birth,
At home,
No drugs.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn the history of your area and about the people there now, no matter where you are from.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Our stories. Our out-of-the-box lifestyle that will probably reflect yours as well (that's why we're all on CS in the first place, eh?). A genuine desire to hear their stories.
I have a recipe for ice cream that will hit many of the "free-from" items, it tastes like a Wendy's Frosty. I will gladly share it ;)
