About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking for a place in sweet home Chicago!!

ABOUT ME

This past summer I saved up money so I could travel all over the Western US. I packed the car, tied up loose ends and left Chicago unfettered in January, 2010 following only my curiosity and intuition. Before I started couchsurfing I never knew that the most amazing people, mesmerizing landscapes and delightful shared happiness was so close at hand, that all I had to do was join in.

I settled in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego for 6 weeks to soak in the California sun for a bit, surf, bike, hike and meet new friends. I loved it. I met so many awesome people who will be my friends for life no doubt.

On April 12th, I volunteered at Coachella doing pre-festival setup and befriended some very unique co-volunteers. Coachella was an amazing eye-opening event. We sang, painted, danced, hoola hooped, vibed and camped out for a week straight. It was hard leaving my Coachella friends behind.

I then travelled up the west coast couchsurfing in LA, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, San Jose, San Francisco.

My last stop was an 8 day stint in Boulder Colorado. I met an awesome host and his friends who took me rock climbing in the Boulder Creek area - it was pretty outrageous dangling from a shear rock that high up. During the week I went to a couple Bluegrass jam sessions and a full moon party up in the mountains. Our last adventure was a trip to Red Rocks amphitheatre to see the Disco Biscuits

I love physical challenges like canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and biking. I also love cultural events like theatre, music, food, festivals. I love to meet locals and find out about their culture.

Now its time for me to hit the road again. My destination this year is to rendezvous with friends in San Francisco and settle in the Bay area.

PHILOSOPHY

I love the speech called "Life is Like A Novel" by Terence McKenna. It is empowering and inspiring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My first couchsurfing experience was a 4-month cross country trip and I met some amazing hosts. I want to leave a lasting positive impression on all the people who host me. I want to build a network of friends all over the country so that no matter where I go I will know some people there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is the best social networking device i've used, especially if you are new to an area. I've couchsurfed all over the west and it led to some pretty amazing experiences that would have been impossible otherwise. I've made friends that i'm sure will last a lifetime. I ended up going to the 2010 coachella music festival with my first host almost two months after we met.
