ABOUT ME

I studied Religion and Animal Science at the University of Vermont when I was in Burlington (when I first joined couchsurfing as a host). I've worked on several small dairy farms over the years and also raised my own goats, sheep, and chickens for spells. I love making yogurt and cheese—particular interest in food and farming methods from the Balkans/Near East. Cloven-hooved animals are my dear friends and teachers. Although agriculture has wrought some terrible things it can also be configured, provisionally, to help heal the world if it is re-defined through a deep naturalist awareness and pre-modern or neolithic technology.

I'm a very curious geminian creature and have lots of interests. Just finished a Master's degree in Religious Studies (focus: Mediterranean/Near Eastern Christianity) in Southern California. My mother is native to a small mountain village in Greece and I've spent lots of time there, especially as a child. My dual interests in religion/spirituality and stewardship of nature (in both her chaos and her order) are most simple explained by the notion that what it means to be human, in my own experience, can be discovered through becoming part of a HEALTHY landscape/ecosystem (since there are many types and not all of them healthy). Now is the time for this healing.... in the digital age we all must humbly remember that natural ecologies were the first "cybernetic" systems and they hold all things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I originally heard about couchsurfing while on a psytrance festival circuit abroad. I hosted for a couple of years in Burlington, VT. Some stuff happened in between now and then... now I'm wanting to perhaps try being on the other side and meeting other couchsurfers as a traveler!
