ABOUT ME

I am kind of quiet, except for when I am not. I enjoy spontanaity and gregarious living, outpoorings of genuine feeling, and getting to know as many people as I can.
I've spent a number of years settled, but I now would like to find a new place to call home, and I'm not in a hurry to get there. Inevitably i'd like to buy a piece of land in the right place, and build a sustainable dwelling, but I want to see what all is out there first.

As well, to quote myself from other avenues of the internet: "Well, um, recently I quit my job as an electrician, and sold my house down in South Austin. I believe I may be trying to discover what is left after I remove all of the chaff from my life. I am general. y unmotivated by the things that seem to motivate most everyone else. I'd like to follow up on my interest in Zen Buddhism, complete any of a number of numerous songs I have begun to compose, but then become bored with half way through, and make scale size human sculptures out of paper-mache. These are potentially my long term goals. Though, I might add dropping out of American society and creating an intentional living community.", and:

"I do not take myself nor anyone else very seriously, though I take life in general incredibly seriously. It's how I achieve balance and harmony in the universe.If I was a cloud i'd probably be noctilucent. If I were a star I might be a class D. If I were a kitten...... well, i'd be fucking adorable."

PHILOSOPHY

I often think about how life happens in the moment, and in a linear progression. I think about how life can sometimes be difficult, but it is difficult for everyone; though not in the same way for everyone, and we are all in it together. I think that while we may not always be living up to our full potentiality; in the moment we are always being the best us that we can be, so I try not to judge people to harshly, because I feel like they are always doing the best they can at that moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the couchsurfing experience. I recently decided to take some time off and make my way around this continent, see what I could see, what type of people I can meet, and what adventures are to be had.

I hope to offer many a ride, and meet many a friend to others traveling in the same direction, or allowing me the privilege of their home.

Interests

Reading, exploring life through the context of interpersonsl relationships, Zen buddhism, playing the guitar, and collaborating with others creatively. As well, paper mache, the function of fashion in culture, making old clothes into new clothes, identity, and a million other things...

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of Milan Kundera, and Aldous Huxley's early novels. I like a lot of existentialist literature, and will read just about anything translated by Walter Kaufman. The last two books I remember reading in recent history were a collection of short stories by Kenzaburo Oe, and "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles" by Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once escorted out of a Walmart for protesting, while wearing a tiger mask and beating a drum.

I once saw a woman arrested for refusing to relinquish her pidgeon to animal control. She had captured said pidgeon, and was using it as a prop while she danced to an awful coverband infront of a bar. This was a Tuesday night at my job.
