Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, from north to south.
ABOUT ME
- So far I've traveled Central America, South East Asia South America, Australia, the Middle east, India, Nepal, California and western Europe, twice. Basically I've spent most of my 20s on the road.
Some of it's been through couchsurfing. People have let me stay over, or met up with me for a coffee, and now I'm trying to give something back by being a host.
- Occasionally, when I travel, I just jump on a random bus and see where I end up.
- My three passions in life are: literature, politics and travelling. My dream is to become a writer.
- I'm a boxer, I lift weights and I practice yoga.
- If you want to crash at my place, you need to send me an email (torgeir.holmen@gmail.com), since everything from couchsurfing gets marked as spam. Don't know why but my Gmail does that.
PHILOSOPHY
Keith Richards is awesome. I love the Rolling Stones
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
once upon a time I was a solo backpacker in need of a place to sleep. Now I return the favour
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed in the netherlands, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Australia, Thailand and Vietnam. Great experiences. I used to say that I love all Couchsurfing but that's unfortunately not true. There are some creeps out there who only have a profile to hook up with girls and I find this disrespectful to the community.
Interests
My dream is to be a writer, so literature is a big part of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Where to start
- Swimming with elephants in Laos... and then India

- Night dive and Wreck dive in Honduras
- MACHU PICCHU!
- Trekking the himalayas
- Travelled by train through half of India just in 9 days. Intense stuff
- TOMORROWLAND!
- Riding a four wheeler on a beach in Nicaragua
- The rain forest in Costa Rica
- Jumped on a random local bus in south, south of thailand, and ended up... somewhere interesting
- Because I was travelling almost constantly for 3 years, my 22nd, 23rd and 24th birthday were celebrated in the following places: Vang Vieng, Laos - Sucre, Bolivia - and Bucharest, Romania. All of which were unforgettable.
- Driving a motor-bike in Vietnamese traffic (in Laos, we actually drove those bad boys up to 90 km/h)
- Backpacking from Cabin to cabin in the norwegian mountains (some of the most beautiful part of the world so far as I have seen)
