ABOUT ME

Hello, future friends! My husband, Jared, and I are living the dream in Silicon Valley, where we both work at law firms. I'm a recruiter, and Jared's a corporate attorney. We've been married for five years.

If I could use one word to describe us it would be "adventurous." We seek out exciting and unconventional activities and strive to be active every day. Case in point: The summer before we started law school we moved to the Hawaiian island of Oahu for nine weeks, just for fun. That was a defining experience for us because we were able to experience the joy of exploring new activities, people, and perspectives. We left the island feeling enriched and motivated to seek experiences throughout out lives that will similarly expand our world views and help us be more compassionate, understanding, and appreciative of others.

Something unique about us is that we're members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons. We love our faith and love sharing it with others. If you surf with us over a Sunday, you're more than welcome to come to church with us. It's the best part of our week!

We surfed across Europe for a couple months before beginning a study abroad in Budapest. And now we host!

Interests

Jared and I love being active. In the summer we mountain bike and hike, and in the winter we're avid skiers. We want to do more backpacking, camping, and rock climbing as soon as our schedule allows. But beyond these activities, our interests diverge. I love to cook and discuss ideas of sustainability and food policy, while Jared loves to eat whatever I cook while watching NBA games. Jared also watches a lot of movies, while the only thing I watch on TV or the big screen is the reality singing competition "The Voice". I seek after new musical artists almost daily, while Jared is satisfied with the five CDs we've had in rotation in our 4Runner since we started dating.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jared is loving the Game of Thrones series. He has watched every HBO episode and is now reading the books. We both enjoyed Downton Abbey, though I don't think I can ever forgive Dan Stevens for leaving the show. My favorite musical artists of the moment are Ed Sheeran, Birdy, Iron & Wine, Florence and the Machine, and Kimbra.

I love to cook and would love to teach a little of what I know. I also have some sewing skills. Jared is good at basically every sport.
