I live in a small town called Courtenay (Vancouver Island) on the west coast of Canada. I moved here from my big, lovely city of Vancouver almost 3 years ago. I have travelled all over the world, staying in hostels, share houses and new friends places along the way. I love meeting new people of all ages and personalities. I have been told I am easy to get along with and smile pretty much all the time. I love to laugh and make other people laugh with outrageous stories ( I have many) and witty humour. My best stories are about my travel adventures ( and probably involve a couple drinks)!

In the winter I love to ski. I love to hang out at the beach, hike, boat in the summer. Music festivals are one of my most favorite things in the world, I have seen so many amazing bands, I don't even know where to begin.. What is your favorite band? I have probably seen them live, lets talk music!!! I love to eat good food, and will try anything once.... I tried crocodile and kangaroo in Australia, seal in Newfoundland!! I love good drinks and don't shy away from a good partAY! That being said, chill time is key in my books too! Top thing to do on my bucket list is cage diving with Great White Sharks!

I have had some pretty cool work experiences abroad in my past. I spent a year in Australia on a working visa; I lifeguarded at some of the most beautiful locations in the world, as well as tried my hand bartending in nightclubs and fruit picking (watermelon, strawberries) in the famous Bundaberg! I worked at a ski resort in Crested Butte, Colorado and at the more tropical location of Ixtapa, Mexico for Club Med. I also worked for the Canadian Coast Guard on a science research vessel, off of the West Coast of British Columbia for a year. Visiting secluded hot springs and seeing killer whales in the wild was an amazing and unforgettable experience.

In my early twenties I was able to travel to many different countries and was lucky enough to be able to work there while seeing the sights as a local. For the past couple of years, I have done some travel to various cities in Mexico, Cuba and Italy- mainly doing very tourist like things with family.

Through couch surfing, I hope to be able to see sides of places that I normally would not easily see. To "be a local". The REAL experience and feelings behind places. The out of the way cafes and street art. The secluded beaches off the beaten track. The hidden waterfalls with pristine surroundings. I want to be able to meet new people and share like minded experiences, evoking further desires to travel with stories of abroad. As much I love seeing new places, I also love sharing the city I live in. I hope that I can do that with the people I meet!

I can share some pretty amazing experiences from around the world. I have worked in some jobs and done some things that people have never even heard of! I love where I come from and am proud to share the experiences I have had (good and bad). I am honest and I know myself. I am confident in who I am and can appreciate the differences in others.
