About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To remember life without picking up a camera

ABOUT ME

I am a student of art history and chemistry, and one day hope to become an art conservator. For those of you who have never heard of that occupation - think art doctor. Art plays a huge role in my life, both experiencing it and making it. I primarily work in glass but also also draw and paint. I particularly like drawing my experiences in foreign places as a way to remember them, and love traveling for all the new images and sites it offers. I am pretty shy but love talking to people and hearing their opinions and thoughts, even if the first meeting is a little nerve-wracking for me.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live virtuously...I think that is a start.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I heard about this project, what amazed me most about the concept was the possibility it offered for exchanging not only spaces but also knowledge and experiences. Any place that I would stay I hope that the host would let me help cook, talk with me, and join me for museum trips. A world of intellectual exchange rather than commodity - what a wonderful idea.

Interests

From Caravaggio to Banksy!

I read a great deal. I am an awkward Science Fiction nerd, but will read Jane Austen just as happily.

I am a vegetarian and love to cook.

My favorite way to spend my time is wandering around a city. I walk everywhere.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a chemistry Teaching Assistant and as an art history student, have worked in multiple museums in NYC. I love sharing what I know about both subjects! I would love to offer a brief chemistry lesson, thought I don't know how many people would be interested...
I also really enjoy cooking and would be really interested in learning from my hosts about their cooking traditions and recipes.
