About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding my place in life and enjoying the ride along the way

ABOUT ME

Travelling is in my blood and meeting new people is one of my absolute most favourite things in the world.
From nature's hand I have been blessed with a natural curiousity towards the world around me and whenever I come across another potential adventure, I tend to do my very best to seek it out. This quality is probably responsible for most of the larger events in my life and quite a few of the minor.

Aside from being a student of the world, I am also a student in the more literal sense. More specifically I study chemistry on a graduate level and at the time I'm writing this I am about to end a semester studying abroad in the United States. University of Florida, Gainesville, is a chapter in my life that I will never forget (Go Gators!) Before leaving the States entirely, I am hoping to see some other sides to the country. A friend of mine told me about this site and that this was a great way to travel and get in contact with the local population at the same time so here I am - ready for another adventure :o)

I am looking very much forward to meeting you all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By being my own social self whilst doing my best to meet people where they stand :o)

Interests

I love music. I play a little bit of guitar but mostly just by myself.
Science is another passion of mine (hence my line of work). Both the popular kind on the Discovery Channel, the kind in kids programs, and the kind I end up doing in the lab myself. I know it's kinda geeky but making things explode or burn with pretty colors never gets old. And seeing people's faces when you light your hands on fire and explain to them how it's important not to panic in such situations is absolutely priceless.
I also love going to the theater (both the classical kind and the one with moving pictures) and museums and that sort of thing. Or markets or anything else that sticks out from my ordinary life.
I like hitting the pubs for a couple of pints and maybe a game of pool, or if the mood is for it, going clubbing.
Food is another of my weaknesses and though I like cooking I seldom find myself doing it, merely because it's not as much fun if I'm the only one eating the result.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Finding Nemo, Forest Gump, Boondock Saints, Alien, Lord of the Rings (The Fellowship of the Ring if I have to choose only one of them), The Matrix, Amelie, Adams Æbler, Blinkende Lygter, Pan's Labyrinth

Music: Anything and everything... except the stuff I don't like :o) I'm so bad at describing what music I like. To name a few: Beethoven, Chopin, Rammstein, Rage against the Machine, DaVinci Notebook/Poul and Storm, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Beatles (mostly the less pop minded stuff like from the Sgt. Pepper album), Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Pink Floyd, Dr. Dre, Eva Cassidy, k's Choice, Louis Armstrong, Kaizer's Orchestra, Soundtrack from O' Brother where art thou, Swan Lee, Bob Marley, Green Day, old 50's and 60's pop, some recent pop, lots of single songs that don't fit in under one catagory

Books: I love to read but I seldom find the time and when I do, I can almost never deside on what to read. Harry Potter 1-6, The Da Vinci Code, The Hobbit, Anything by Jan Guillou
