About Me

I caught the travel bug in 2014 when I took a trip to Thailand for 3 weeks. Something about whittling my life down into a backpack and minimizing all of the material items I owned, even just for three weeks, was highly alluring to me.

That trip to Thailand sparked an appetite to keep moving and keep meeting new people. At the time I was still working a 9-5 office job - which I loved - but couldn't see myself doing for the rest of my life. I was constantly day dreaming about my next adventure, and decided to move to London to mix things up. But two years, countless weekend trips in Europe and as many adventures in the city later, it still wasn't enough adventure for me. I put in my notice and began planning my next journey. This time, the backpack would contain everything I would ever need.

That is except, of course, good company a place to sleep.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people in their home countries! I would like to learn about other peoples' backgrounds and also share my own experiences. I would love to see places from the locals' perspective and really live in the moment.

Interests

I really love anything that gets me physically moving. I'm partial to racquet sports and am always up for a game of tennis, racquetball, ping pong, squash, etc. I also like outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, climbing, you name it.

On the non-physical side, I'm particularly passionate about poker, finance models in MS Excel, economics, social justice.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pretty much every music genre out there. I grew up listening to Classic Rock on my dad's stereo so you can never go wrong there. Lately I'm into any music with a beat that I can dance or bob my head to.

I prefer non-fiction books like biographies and "lifestyle" books that help one grow as a person. I love being inspired by others' words or experiences and applying it to my own life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job to travel the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to teach people about personal finance, MS Excel, Spanish, or to give advice on any other topic you might have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my story, my cooking, and I can help with chores around the house if needed! I'm also happy to grab a pack of beer to share if that's what you fancy :)
