About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See sights, meet people, eat, drink, and be merry in and with the rest of the world
ABOUT ME
Alex: A beer brewer, lover of all things foodie and artisanal be it coffee, cheese, bread, chocolate, tea; basically if someone can be devoted to a craft, I want to know all about it. Studied organic and sustainable farming in college, and have a deep interest with the scientific principles that make the world go round. Music is one of my greatest passions, as above, I am not limited to a specific genre, rather than the emotion and dedication behind the music. My Future plan is to start a brewpub with focus on good beer, local/sustainable food and the best damn pizza the world has ever seen!
Natalie: I recently graduated with a degree in International Affairs where I concentrated on community development. As an avid runner and lover of food, my passion lies in community health, whether it be domestically or internationally. I love exploring new things, new cultures, new places, new food or new music. I also love people and learning from people from all different walks of life. Since I spent a large amount of time in school studying government, I am fascinated basically with how the world works; how people interact in their society and the lessons we can all learn from each other.
PHILOSOPHY
Alex: Be happy now, the present is definite, while the future is indefinite and becomes the past far too quickly. Do what you love, and be active and vocal in your love and strive to have no regrets. Cherish your friends and your enemies for how they enrich your life and teach you the things you yourself cannot. I'm a really deep guy, so it;s impossible to summarize, so this is the best your gonna get :)
Natalie: Explore and learn everything you can with the time you're given on this beautiful earth. Focus on the present and enjoy every moment of it because it is all you have. Learn from both the good and bad; there is a lesson in every moment life gives you. Relax. Take nothing for granted and tell everyone you love that you love them because life is short!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Alex: Aside from my day to day happenings, providing entertainment for locals in foreign places with my western antics, I work at anything I can do to foster social and communal involvement. This is the base reason for my interest in food an beer, as both transcend cultural differences and are catalysts for bringing people together and sharing company and ideas
Natalie: Whether it's cooking a meal for new friends, exploring a new place, or discovering a new trail, I try to be present with my actions and learn from everything I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Thus far, were are total couchsurfing rookies. We are just delving in. Very excited to meet people within the community by surfing, and we will be teaching English for 6-8 months in Hanoi, at which time will be able to host!
