About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to start the revolution. Current mission status: still working out the logistics.

ABOUT ME

I have a lot of energy...I love to talk and debate about anything from politics and current events to philosophy and religion. I have a quiet side too though, and can often be found reading, daydreaming, or taking walks. I am obsessed with my dog and am currently getting my teaching credentials so I can be an elementary school teacher.

PHILOSOPHY

"Fight the Oppressor!" The Oppressor can be anything from racism and systemic inequality to homework and high fructose corn syrup.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been couch surfing through Europe, Asia, and South America since 2007 and now my roommate and I have decided to start hosting. I am excited to finally be able to give back to this community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed in Paris, Rome, Venice, Milan, Budapest (twice), Lisbon, Krakow, Prague, Munich, Trier, and the Brazilian Amazon. I have had one negative experience (Venice); the rest have been outstanding. I met people for sight-seeing and social events in Madrid and Cologne.

After all this surfing, I am very excited to start giving back to the community by hosting! I truly love Long Beach and am curious to see who shows up.

Music, Movies, and Books

films: My all-time favorites are Traffic, Gladiator, Gone With the Wind, Lord of the Rings & Harry Potter, anything by Quentin Tarantino and Steven Soderbergh. I am a movie geek, this list could go on forever...

music: Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, The Radio Dept, Rage Against the Machine, Nara Leao, Nathan Fake, Tiesto, Trina, Nas, Atmosphere, Elis Regina, Jacques Brel, Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, MGMT, Broken Social Scene...again, the list could go on...mostly I love techno and alternative with a smidge of hip-hop & bossa nova.

books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Kundera), Rebecca (DuMaurier), Gone with the Wind (Mitchell), The Godfather (Puzo), Love in the Time of Cholera (Garcia Marquez), The House of Mirth (Wharton)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The coolest thing I've ever done was when I hopped a ride on a freighter river boat and floated along the Amazon river from the border of Colombia, Peru, & Brazil to the mouth of the Amazon on the Atlantic coast of Brazil. That experience was everything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you a LOT about politics, but I try not to get started until I know the person because I am very opinionated. I can teach you how to say "hello" in about 15 languages.

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
