About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I know a bunch of random people from the internet I need to go harass in person. I'd like to visit places I went to when I was younger to examine them with wiser eyes.

ABOUT ME

"If we asked your best friends about you, what kinds of things would they say?" - Good things, I would hope. I'm a guy who gets involved in all a wide range of activities with an equally broad spectrum of personalities. At heart I am a writer and traceur; by profession I am a programmer and unfortunate student.

I enjoy new experiences and thus tend to wander head first (figuratively, sometimes literally) into locations and people. I apologize well in advance for my disuse of tact!

PHILOSOPHY

Do anything and everything you get the chance to. Don't let the opportunity slip away - It may never return. Don't get caught up on the little things. When a decision needs to be made, you always know what you want.

At the end of the day, you'll probably be awake in a bed come the morning. Maybe even one belonging to someone else, but hell, at least you know you've lived. Take some risks. There's no point in avoiding them - Are you trying to make it safely to death of old age?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Owing to the fact I am a jobless financial burden who does not live in a particularly nice part of Dublin, I've been quite hesitant to host anybody. I do, however, enjoy showing up local events.

I tend to discuss the various nuances between Irish culture and that of the people I speak to through Couchsurfing. It's interesting to understand a person's perspective with regard to how their culture influenced them.

Interests

Well, I enjoy literature - Reading, writing, all that jazz. Psychology and sociology fascinate me; as does history and science, though they are my weaker points. I recently got into photography, though I'm not artistically inclined.

As a product of the current century I enjoy technology and thus are knowledgeable about it; I used to be into videogames quite a lot, but it got pushed fairly far down my list of priorities. Still able to frag with the best, though. Oh, I also like cooking. I'm fairly shite at it, but I'm getting there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many. The Stranger by Albert Camus hits a bit close to my heart. Same with the movie Cashback. My music tastes are eclectic; when people were going through that awkward puberty stage listening to Linkin Park and Metallica, I was singing along to Muse and Franz Ferdinand.

Really, if you need to know this kind of thing, ask for my Goodreads and Letterboxd accounts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two or three moments? Awestruck is a bit of a strong word. I was distraught to find out the Disney classics all got two or three sequels each. I think falling in love for the first time was pretty damn amazing. I can't think of anything that's not mundane...
