Overview
About Me
Tripple vaccinated.
Born in West Berlin in 1947, I grew up there during the years of the ‘cold war’ and was there when the wall was built. Married in ‘71 and migrated together to Australia the same year. Finally settled in Adelaide after living in Hobart Tasmania, Melbourne and in Dunedin N.Z. We have 2 sons, both married and we have 6 grandchildren. I retired in 2016 when my wife needed more care. Unfortunately she died in July 2018 in Hahndorf where I moved to as well in May 2018. I am playing in a brass/concert band and I am also engage in folk art painting and in photography. Before I retrained as a Junior Primary. teacher, graduating in ‘79, I was a trained a la cart chef. I still love cooking for friends and visitors. All menu requests will be considered. I am still healthy and fit, like to laugh and can laugh about myself. I love to meet people from other lands and cultures and if they visit here to show them around. I am a committed Christian and look after a German speaking congregation in North Adelaide. I have very cheeky but friendly cat who is also very affectioned if you happen to give him some of his favourite treats. I am now engaged again to a very loving and beautiful Indonesian woman and hope our prospective partner Visa will arrive soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My late wife and I used air bnb for some years now and I stayed mainly with air bnb on my trip in 2017. Friends here in Adelaide told me about ‘couchsurfing’ and shared their positive experiences and I think it’s a better way to travel and meet the locals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in June 2018. To find a new love in late 2022 from Indonesia, the most unlikely place for me as I had not been to any Asian country before, but the ways of our Lord are amazing. So now I am engaged again and we are waiting for our ‘prospective partner Visa’.
