ABOUT ME

At last I am a FREE man. I am retired and life is a joy. I have all the time in the world to do what I always wanted to. I grew up in Cape Town and decided to retire 17 years ago to be able to enjoy a relaxed life while I am still young enough to do the things I always wanted to. I love the sea and beaches and the mountains.
I know Table Mountain quite well and I am always game for a hike.
I like the company of friendly, funny, interesting people with a love of hiking.
I usually travel with a backpack. Last trips to Papua, Indonesia and Mauritius.

Would like to help others to have a good experience in Cape Town and I enjoy the company.
It is a nice way to meet local people and spend time with them when traveling.

Books by Joseph Conrad, W Somerset Maugham, Bill Bryson, John Steinbeck, Roald Dahl and the likes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a kid, I was almost knocked off my paddle board by a large whale that surfaced from underneath.
Experiencing the Raja Ampat Islands, Papua.
