About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the correct term for a male mermaid. Also, the plural for a mixed gender grouping.

ABOUT ME

I am kind of a big deal, my apartment smells of rich mahogany and I have...

Wait, no. Lemme start over.

I live in Berlin, it's cool here, excessively so.. Everyone is artistic, and creative, and wears really douchey thick-rimmed glasses, and believes strongly in something iconoclastic, like "smash capitalism"; a topic they regularly discuss over Mocaccino's in Starbucks.

It's that sort of town. How could you not want to live here?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm on here because with very few exceptions the best people I know travel.

Now I'm settled for the time being; and on the one hand, I don't have to sleep in 30 person dorm rooms, but on the other, I also don't get to meet awesome people on a daily basis.

I want to meet more nutcases like the 18 year old Austrian kid I shared a coffee with in a Serbian train station; who in his summer holiday, went to Libya when the borders were closed, and bribed an official to let him in on an oil drilling Visa. Just because he thought it'd be a laugh! I miss meeting people like that, so this is my way of hopefully getting the best of both worlds..

In terms of what I can provide, it's pretty minimal if I'm honest, I have a room but this flat has no couch, so you'll have to bring a sleeping bag. Still, it's free; which is cheaper than many hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any book where the writer knows that three syllable words must be used only rarely, and even then under forbearance. So nothing French then..

Any film, where the director understands that a five-minute black and white shot lingering over a cityscape is not compelling; people running away (or towards) things is compelling. So nothing french then..
