I am not currently hosting, sorry - hopefully can again sometime soon. At this point in time, I am very active and willing to plan and coordinate with NYC events and help make the CS community here a great one.
As a Couchsurfing Ambassador for New York City, you can consider me an additional resource if you have questions about the New York community, if you have questions or problems that you are not sure how to address, or if you have ideas about how we can improve the Couchsurfing culture here in NYC. Ambassadors are not a substitute for the CS Trust and Safety, or Support teams, so please remember there are many issues that an ambassador cannot handle for you!
Some general advice for surfers here:
NYC is difficult for surfing, so hopefully you have spent some time and energy to prepare for your trip, to hopefully get verified and get references, and also have sent a lot of good requests if you are coming to this city. There are just not many available hosts compared to all the travelers who come here, so you must work hard.. We do also have a Last Minute Couch Request group, but that should not be your primary option!!
** Now that we've got all that out of the way, a little about me **
I spent most of my life in Upstate New York before coming to New York City in 2013. I live in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn, with a rich Caribbean history - folks from Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad, Haiti, Grenada, Guadeloupe, etc.
Currently, I work an office job for an energy company, and in the past did work as an EMT (ambulance). I am interested in various political, social, economic, and environmental issues, or just learning about people!
I have a cat, Zuzu. She likes you. I hope you like her.
I like beer. If you like beer, let's go hunt down a good drink somewhere!
I'm also adventurous, in that I like to break out and explore around NYC and also the surrounding area. I don't go international too often, so I have to try to find as many local adventures as I can!
