About Me

Got BA in English Translation and Interpretation from Hacettepe University(Ankara-Turkey).
Studied in Ghent University for a semester (Erasmus+).
Currently studying MSc in Cognitive Science at TU Kaiserslautern (Germany)

Super casual.
A listener with most weird (I prefer to call it 'interesting') questions.
Curious.
Young outside, old inside.
Realist but has a side of optimist (fulfillment that comes with wisdom).
Fact person. Interested about anything related with science. (Okay this description dates back to 2017. My mentality has completely changed and I gave a bit of importance to emotions and morality of things. Not to say that facts and emotions are two different things, but you do the math.)
Amateur mountain biker(XCO). I can only do small drops and jumps (enough to feel like inside the MTB community).
Long-distance runner (mainly interested in ultra marathons, but could perform at marathon distances atm).
Also, interested in many kinds of sport.
Watching films and listening music are my active free-time hobbies. If the purpose is to enjoy them, I hate talking, eating, or any other multi-tasking.
Wannabe hippie (acts more like a hipster).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Doing the things that you want to do and being in the place you want to be are important for everybody. But the importance of keeping a decent life lies in connection with things around you. I'm really keen on meeting with new people and building those connections. Sharing is caring, they say. Person who is nice and kind is my only need. Experience comes with people.
I just moved into a WG. Cannot host anyone for now, but I'm in for meet-ups.

Interests

I've worked as a bartender during the last year of my life. I can't call myself a bartender unless I come up with my own recipe. So, I've got a lot to learn. But you can trust on me making great coctails for our small or big parties.
Apart from mixology, i'm mainly interested in beer and the culture behind it. I've tasted with great variety of beers from great variety of countries and I believe to have developed a good sense of understanding the taste of it.
Mountain biking has been a constant part of my life for a long time (5 years). Along with it, I acquired the habit of regular exercises (running and fitness) for the last 3 years. I've got a lot to go, but i've constructed a solid foundation both as mentally and physically. I just need the right time and conditions to achieve even greater goals (ironman, triathlon, ultra-marathon).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love every one of them so i really can't say that "THIS IS MY BEST". But i have to try my chance because i know that the things i write in here has a great impact on people.

In general, i love progressive, post-rock, and folk music. I like to hear instruments talking. (Dream Theater, Tool, Mogwaii, Explosions in the Sky, God is an Astronout, Old Salt, etc.). I've started to get a hold of jazz (not classic jazz, tho. It has all that various kinds of it that i cannot even categorize) and hip-hop lately.

Nowadays, i am into modern dance. I feel like sth inside of me is trying to kick out to show the potential of itself. The only thing i do about this is to go to a clubs and do my drunk dance (this has been later replaced by home version of it during the pandemic)

I watch every kind of movie. I really do not choose because every one of them is a way of storytelling and art. So yeah, EVERY MOVIE. (But at least i can give some directors: Edgar Wright, Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Coen Brothers)

I always think that i need to read more. I am really terrible at this. (I have a tendecy to go hype when people talk about Ursula Le Guin.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Umm... i dunno. I might have done so many things that seemed amazing at the time and feels ordinary now. Hence, I'm generally amazed at my resillience, trying to focus on now and enjoy it as much as possible no matter what the physical and psyhological constraints are.

Also, I am a challenger guy (yeah, that stupid guy who is willing to do 'anything'). If you have something on your mind, just hit me up.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study the mind in general, with a higher focus on the humans. I always enjoy sharing the knowledge I acquired over the years. Combined with my interest into politics and admiration for art, I could talk about many creations, attributions, capacities, and functions of the human mind.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been vegetarian for almost a year now, and thanks to the stay-at-home restrictions, I've improved my cooking skills. I'm mainly interested in South American, North African, Southeast Asian, Middle-Eastern, and Mediterrian cuisines, and I often take pride in combining those vibes. So, I would be happy to cook with the hosts!
