ABOUT ME

I started travelling the world about 11 years ago. First I went to Prague in the Czech Republic and became an English teacher and manager of a party/travel company.
The last 3 years I worked in Ankara, Turkey teaching English at a primary school. But it has finished now. These days I am preparing to call New York my home again while increasing my traveling to other countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since 2010 I have done the CS thing in Turkey and Ukraine.
But as of summer 2012 I have stopped teaching in Turkey and will be more free to travel to new countries. The USA is now again my 'home base'.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was as a surfer for a weekend in Izmir, Turkey. It was a great experience. My hosts were fantastic. And the city is perfect. The right mix of sun, sea, beach and ice rink. I made lots of new friends, both CS and just people I met on the street.

Interests

I am very much into sports, especially ice hockey. I played for the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. I also like to play tennis.
And in order to play well and keep healthy I try to hit the gym as much as possible. If I did not have to work for a living I would spend most of my days in the gym. Eating well and getting outside to nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2008 Going to south Italy for the first time to meet family I never knew and see the house where my grandfather lived.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about sports, how to skate, how to throw a frisbee, swing a tennis racket, live in different places in and around Europe and generally give lots of life advice.
I am interested to learn how to cook, especially Italian, Japanese and Asian.
