CURRENT MISSION

Graduate MSOE here in Milwaukee with a BS in EE and begin taking engineering contracts overseas! Oh, and to ramble as much as possible in the meantime. ^_^

ABOUT ME

Dashing adventurer & eclectic people eater, I mean meeter! I tend to enjoy any new experience that reforms my expectations of myself and the world around me. I take VERY little seriously, but that doesn't stop me from being sincere. I tend toward irreverent, anti-authority thought without drifting too far from a reasonable center. For me, no joke is too dark or dirty, no idea is too taboo, and few things will elicit a gasp of disapproval aside from willing ignorance, sexism, and racism. However, a good joke about a stereotype never made me stop liking Daniel Tosh, Anthony Jeselnik, or good ol' Mr. Carlin. I laugh more than most people I know. I try to leave my comfort zone at any opportunity. I will give you the shirt off my back if you are a sincerely honest and caring person. I have no patience for thieves or liars. Truth, understanding, courage, and lightheartedness are the traits I value. All this can be said without sounding too pompous or pretentious, I hope.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to fix as much as possible any ethnocentric assumptions I may carry with me to better understand not just the nation around me, but the world around me. Education and truth are two of my highest values.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Forgive me, I am in the middle of relocating for college so it is hard to say much about this. New roommates might not understand having unfamiliar guests. I am always up to meet someone coming in to an area and share my (still somewhat limited) knowledge of it with them though! Anytime!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a couple couch surfers while staying in Cape Town, SA and they were such amazing people that I had to come join the community!

Update: Since being convinced to join, the Milwaukee group has proven to me what a great idea it was!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a non-religious yet spiritual human being who tends to agree with the Tao Te Ching just as much as any spiritual writing, it was an incredible honor to stand on the Temple of Heaven in China and feel the centuries of history around me as I stomped on the stone that "called the gods". All of China was exhilarating to me.
