About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find deep connections with likeminded people. Learn from other cultures. Share my energy and love to the world. Pass on every good thing that has happened to me in my life.
And most importantly - dismantle the system.

ABOUT ME

I have a big passion for traveling like so many others here on Couchsurfing, obviously. I've been on many longer trips both alone and with my boyfriend Lean. We had another long trip planned here in 2020 but it was cut short because of this whole Rona thing. We got to see the south of India though, which was awesome.
Right now my biggest passion is without a doubt midwifery in the true sense of the word - "with women". I am studying midwifery with the goal of becoming a traditional midwife or radical birthkeeper. I wanna be with women in every stage of their life. If you heard my views on a lot of these things you would maybe call me radical but radical actually means "back to roots" so I'll take it as a compliment.

I like being in nature and I am very passionate about permaculture and and just growing my own organic food. It's getting closer to realisation as my boyfriend and I bought our own land in the most beautiful idyllic place. We dream of making it into a permaculture paradise where we can open our home to travellers all over the world.

I am and have always loved reading. I mostly read non-fiction at this point but I love me a good fantasy book once in a while.

I've been travelling a lot my whole life since my father is a freelance operasinger, and I have always loved it.

Fun fact: When I was little my friends and I believed in karma in a very literal way so when we would step on a snail by mistake we would all yell: "Now you'll be stepped on in your next life!"

PHILOSOPHY

Somebody once told me that it was better to play loud and wrong than low and right.
You can never dream too big! If you're not dreaming because you think it won't happen it won't.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of help exchange and giving something to people without expecting to get something back. I love that no money is involved in the act of Couchsurfing (though I think it's sad that the site is monetising it so much) and I think we should apply ideas like this to many other things in the world.
I think Couchsurfing is amazing to connect with people.

Favourite books:
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende.

Favourite music:
I wanted to make a short list of artists I love but it's impossible to make it short. I have so much music I enjoy listening to. So much old music but also a lot of new. I love folk, singer/songwriter, balkan, reggae, rock, indie, soul, classical music, etc.

Movie:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Canoeing in Halong Bay, Vietnam surrounded by the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Big majestic cliff islands that will take your breath away.

In India Lean and I figured out how I could use his body as a surf board (I would obviously only be lying on top of his back not standing on him, haha!). We got pretty good at it and I consider it an amazing feat that I got to ride a few waves on his back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn everything I can about being off the grid, permaculture, being self-sufficient and living off the land so if you know anything about that I will love you forever for sharing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything I know about wildcrafting, making your own medicine from plants and of course all you wanna know about female health and wellness.
