Overview
About Me
Lexy: I'm on a journey to craft myself into the me I want to be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Lexy: The obvious reason people join couchsurfing is for a free place to stay, but there's so much more to it than that. I want to meet amazing people and make friends all over the world; this is the perfect way to do that. Couchsurfing is an intimate exchange and you get to see the way someone else lives as they share their home with you. The kindness of strangers is such a pure and beautiful thing, especially when nothing is asked in return. Someday, when I've settled in somewhere, I will be happy to open my home to weary travelers as others do for me.
Mike: because I always wanted to learn how to surf...but I'm really lazy

Music, Movies, and Books
Lexy: Other than people, music is the most important thing to me and has the biggest influence on who I am. Punk and ska-punk are what I consider "my music." NOFX, Gogol Bordello, and Streetlight Manifesto are undoubtedly my favorite bands and I feel a deep connection with their music. I'll always appreciate and enjoy the music I grew up with; Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Bob Marley, and The Doors were some of the notable players. As a teen I had a bit of an obsession with Cobra Starship that I will never leave behind. As far as pop stars go, Gwen Stefani is damn near perfect and Miley Cyrus is the guilty pleasure. I'm starting to branch out more from my punk core and have been exploring new genres!
As for movies I tend to be one of those people that is constantly disappointing others when they ask me "have you seen *insert movie title here*" or "remember that part in *random movie*" and 9 times out of 10 my answer is no. Of the movies I have seen Across The Universe, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind stick out as favorites. I enjoy the shit out of Disney movies; Lilo and Stitch, Pocahontas, Tangled, and Mulan are particularly near and dear to my heart. If you've seen and enjoyed the movie Captain Ron, we're friends.
I'm not a huge reader of books as an adult, although I have an ongoing lofty goal to change that and I feel like now might be the time! I do tend to read articles often about various subjects that interest me (fitness, music, travel, personal development). As a child / teen I read a good amount, especially during the summer when school was out of session. My favorite books from that era include "A Thousand Splendid Suns," "Number The Stars," and "Pictures Of Hollis Woods." On the other hand books I loathed include "Lord Of The Flies" and "The Pearl," I don't like things that come off as pretentious.
