CURRENT MISSION

Currently I am on a mission to explore the country living out of my car with a girl and my climbing gear.

ABOUT ME

I am a man of simple passions. I make the best of the time that I have on this Earth by skirting the conventional idea of "success" as often as possible. I work when I have to but only to save enough to fund my next climbing trip or backpacking excursion. I tend to base most things in my life around rock climbing. Coming from a humble beginnings as a gym climber in Columbus, OH, I moved to South Lake Tahoe, California a few years back to begin my exploration of the country's amazing climbing areas. I have since bounced back and forth from coast to coast doing just that. I spent the past year traveling and climbing in Ecuador and Peru, then spent the summer working trails in Denali National Park up in Alaska. Its been a blast of a year. Now I am finally settling down for a quiet winter in Bishop, CA to climb and be merry.

Hosting couch surfers has introduced me to some of the coolest people I know. It is how I got established in Lake Tahoe. I would like to pay it forward and help anyone traveling through the area by supplying info or a climbing partner.

Interessi

I've been snowboarding since I was a kid but I have officially graduated into warmer hobbies. I will definitely get back on a board but I need some warmer climates to call my home. Bishop is great for accessibility to climbing and snowboarding. I also enjoy drinking coffee, playing chess, watching movies when I have the time and a place to do so, and enjoying a fair bit of good beer and wine. I play the guitar, and have dabbled with other instruments. I am a backpacker having spent a summer living and working in the backcountry of Kings Canyon National Park in the southern Sierra Nevada and another in Denali National Park in Alaska. I love a good conversation, meeting new people, and trying new things. And I'm somewhat awkward.

This is difficult as my tastes are always changing so I will just spew a bunch of things that I have been into or may be into now. Weeds, Lost, Arrested Development, Kurt Vonnegut, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, LOTR, Desert Solitaire, Between a rock and a hard place, The stand, The road, Rent, Iron & wine, Regina Spektor, Radical Face, and blah. As of late I've been into Breaking Bad, Elephant Revival, Bon Iver, and The Hunger Games series.

I am always interested in sharing the knowledge and skills that I possess as well as picking up any piece of interesting information or trades. I have a decent understanding of music, so if you are just learning to play, I can share what I know, or if you are an experienced musician, I would love to learn what I can from you. I am somewhat fluent/ proficient in Spanish and enjoy practicing whenever I get an opportunity. I am a rock climber and would be available if anyone wanted to come out and give it a try.
