About Me
My name is Thierry, I was born in Chile, and I’ve spent most of my life in France. I speak French, Spanish, English and Italian.
I’m really curious, I find interest in about everything. All the scientific fields, art, culture, history… I love to learn new things. All the ins and outs, the causes and consequences… I love to read and I will always have a book with me.
Last year I decided to quit my office job and traveled through Asia. I want to go out and see all that the world has to offer and find meaning in what I do. I’m open minded and have a positive attitude towards any social interaction. Meeting new and diverse people is also something that I’m passionate about. Getting to know their stories, sharing experiences and perspectives.
I’m not afraid about new situations and environments, that’s where I thrive, and I feel like I learn the most.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to meet local people, know more about their culture and maybe learn a new language. Live new experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently went on a backpacking roadtrip in south east asia for about 4 months. I started in the south of Vietnam then moved my way to the north of the country. Did lots of stuff, but the most memorable one was the Ha Giang Loop, a motorbike look in the northern mountains of the country. I meet lots of people and shared with the locals. Got the chance to admire the beautiful landscapes, the mountains, the rice paddies, the small villages...
From there I went to Laos, where I discovered the country and I went on a trekk of a few days in the jungle. Then I went to the north of Thailand (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai...) , did another motorbike loop (Mae Hong Son loop). Later I went to Bangkok and the south and the different islands. Met a friend in Singapore. With her we traveled to Taiwan, where we did all the east coast of the island cycling. I had amazing experiences and got to know more about the chinese and japanese culture. Finally I went to South Korea where I also spent like a month and moved all around the country.
