About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be smarter, stronger, faster, healthier, more productive, and happier every day of my life. To leave everything I come into contact with the same or better than the way I found it.

ABOUT ME

I rock mics, guitars, and drumsets. I don't eat any animal products. I ride bicycles hundreds of miles per week (I'm currently riding from Akron, OH to LA to San Francisco...)

PHILOSOPHY

Perpetual self-improvement. Every day, I want to be a better man, in some way, than I was the day prior. I want to help others do the same. I want to be free and to bring everyone who feels the same along with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not hosted anyone, because I have been traveling a great deal, but I've done a decent amount of surfing. Every place I've stayed I've been warmly welcomed and thoroughly entertained. Without CS, touring by bicycle would be considerably more difficult.

Interests

Prose. Collaboration and compromise. Anything revolutionary.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up on Lookout! and Dischord Records' bands, as well as Chicago underground giants such as Braid and American Football. I'm very fond of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. I also really love math-rock, and unique instrumentals. I like hip-hop from the East & Midwest.

I don't watch a lot of movies, but I like gangster shit as well as the stuff all the hip kids are into.

I don't read as many books as I should, but I really like beatnik prose and poetry, and I'm pretty partial to classic adventure novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've crossed the US (not coast-to-coast, but 3,300 miles and counting) on a bicycle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about guitar, drums, bass, diet & exercise, professional-level poker, and a grab-bag of other things.
