Overview
About Me
I have always had dreams of travelling the world and after starting my Science degree I finally decided to take a break from study as well as the mundane suburban/city life. This travel experience I am embarking upon is my new outlet and I plan to see the world and write what I can about it. I love reading, cooking, hiking and writing (and obviously listening to music and watching movies as well). I always enjoy having a good laugh or engaging in some existential philosophical discussion but also respect the need for time alone and self reflection.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because a friend of mine is currently travelling and recommended it to me and because I am eager to meet new people and experience different ways of living all across the world. I have become tired of the 'nine to five', so to speak, and want to embrace something new and exciting. I am more than willing to help when/where needed and would relish the chance to experience 'a day in the life' of my host, to witness their own ties to the world and take on a new sense of culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read, primarily classic novels, some of my favourite authors include Kafka, Hemingway, and Steinbeck but I am also a big fan of poetry, my favourite poem being 'Strange Meeting' by Wilfred Owen
As for movies, anything by Terrence Malick is amazing but especially 'The Thin Red Line'.
'Wings of Desire' is another of my favourite films, being a poetic film it ties into my love for poetry
And I can't forget 'Bladerunner' either, as I studied it for my final two years of high school and it is now a part of me
For music, I enjoy a very diverse range, my foundations are 90's rap and modern indie but to be honest I have an appreciation for all kinds and I am always seeking to discover new tunes (even if I may not be able to understand the foreign lyrics)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm always willing to help out wherever needed and get some insight into the day-to-day life of my host, as well as learning about their culture. I look forward to sharing experiences and discovering the nuances of our different languages and society.
