Cycling from Calgary to San Francisco

ABOUT ME

We are a couple going to travel in Canada by bicycle. Our journey started at the end of May in Calgary and we "wwoofed" our way through to Vancouver and the Northwest of US.

In Portland we had our first CS experience and it was really amazing. We immediately connected and we didn't only find a couch there but a couple of friends.

So, we'd like to have more of that positive experience on our way to SFC and prefer to couchsurf than staying in ordinary motels.

In our real life, which will start mid of August again, we work in the automotive industry, creating and destroying cars on a computer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since we only heard of CS from other travelers just a couple of weeks ago we have been only surfers so far. Not regreting having stayed at any couch yet.

I guess we'll open up our couch in Munich once we get home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Exceptional. All of the 5 couches we have stayed so far have been great.

We can't verify our home destination since we only get to our postcard once we're back home again. (just in case somebody questions our trustworthiness)

Interests

Hiking, biking, running and a bit of climbing. And of course traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly read the newspaper and only manage a book every half year.

Emotionally we feel more closely related to alternative french or spanish movies shown in arts cinemas but we like the usual Hollywood mainstream as well. Latest movie watched: Inception

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Together:
* we cycled (or still cycle) all the way from Calgary to San Francisco (not on the shortest possible route)

Thomas:
* I hiked through the alps in 16 days (Munich - Lake Garda)

* Lightening hit me a few years ago and knocked me out for a couple of seconds. I still think I am pretty normal.

Kathrin:
* is still thinking of something more outstanding than her bicycle trip

Well, what can we teach?

Thomas is a skiing instructor in the alps and could show you how to make the first turns.
