Overview
About Me
My name is Dr. Thomas Kelly, but you can call me Tommy. I'm a funding consultant for Grant agency in the UK and a full-time digital nomad, moving from one place to another each month to experience life on the road. Originally from the north of England, I've lived in various cities across the UK. However, I've now left behind the UK's green and pleasant land to embrace the adventure of being a world traveler, exploring new cultures and making connections around the globe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because, as a digital nomad, I want to immerse myself in the local culture and meet new people in each city I visit. I’m looking to connect with locals who can introduce me to art galleries, hidden restaurants, secret bars, techno spots, and charming parks that aren’t in the guidebooks. I value genuine experiences and friendships, and Couchsurfing offers a unique opportunity to explore cities through the eyes of those who know them best.
Interests
I love going to the gym and work out regularly, about five times a week, focusing on body splits and tracking my progress. I'm also passionate about running and enjoy hitting the pavement. I have a PhD in literature, which makes me a bit of a book junkie—I'm especially drawn to utopian and dystopian themes, as well as stories about imaginary cities and fictional architecture, which align with my own research interests. It might surprise you, but I'm also a big fan of techno clubbing. I love exploring the underground music scene, especially in iconic warehouse clubs in cities like Paris, Amsterdam, London, and, most of all, Berlin

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm fascinated by anything related to science fiction and utopian worlds, especially those that delve into imagined futures, like in films such as Blade Runner, Metropolis, and Brave New World. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Complete my PhD (still mostly sane)
Teach, Learn, Share
Travel is my chance to break free from the constraints of routine and immerse myself in new environments, mindsets, landscapes, and cityscapes. It allows me to dream bigger and explore the endless possibilities that a nomadic life offers. I look forward to learning as much as I can from these experiences and from the incredible people I meet along the way
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a private and quiet person who values a peaceful environment, and I'm always respectful of others' space. I'm happy to help out with household tasks and contribute to bills or any shared expenses during my stay. I'm also open to joining you for a coffee or exploring the city when you have time. I enjoy going to the gym regularly, so if you're looking for a workout buddy, I'm always up for breaking a sweat!
