About Me

I want to experience life to the fullest. That may sound cliche, but it's true. I recently realized that I had been following the rules that everyone had set for me. Go to school, try to find a job, and keep struggling to make money, and continue that for the rest of my life. After 28 years of doing what everyone else wanted, I am now leaving that behind to do what I want. I love animals, and nature so I want to see as much of that as I can. I love learning, and experiencing new things, so I am booking a one way flight to SE Asia to learn and experience their culture to the best of my ability.

I have always wanted to be an adventurer, an explorer, someone that people look up to and say I want to do what they are doing. This is what I have wanted to do my entire life, it just took awhile to realize it.

If I can, I would love to travel the world and work with animals, especially venomous snakes. I will try anything once, and I am always up for an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For years I have spent time doing what others expected of me. Now, I have decided to do what I want to do instead of what others want me to do. As of March 2018 I hope to be travelling around the world, starting with a quick trip from PDX to the San Francisco Airport to take a one way flight to Bangkok (Which is also my first trip out of the country). I travel light, and don't plan on staying still much, but I am always up for making new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music, although a lot of rap and heavy metal music I am not a fan of.
Movies are similar. I will give anything a shot, but I am not big on humor found in movies like Napoleon Dynamite.
I love to read. Sci-Fi, Mystery, Action, some more classical novels. Anything that can take me away and make me forget about my problems.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved 2100 miles for a job in Wisconsin in May of 2017 knowing fully that it would only last 4 or 5 months. After it was finished I took a month long road trip back to Oregon, zig zagging my way South and West through Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California before cutting up North to go through Nevada before reaching Oregon. 10 states in a month, while hitting every National Park I was near, and even winning a lottery to hike "The Wave"

Teach, Learn, Share

Always willing to learn, especially if people have insights into languages. I struggle with that, but I am trying. I took 2 years of Spanish in High School, 1 year of French in College, and have been Using Babbel to try and teach myself Indonesian. So far I am nowhere near being able to converse in any of them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am not really sure how to answer this. I have stories, if people want to listen. other than that I am pretty new to this. I will update this once I have an idea of what I can share.
