ABOUT ME

Always in for sharing thoughts, experiences and a good laugh!
I'm an engineer by training but leaning more and more towards sending it all to hell and become a travel writer.

PHILOSOPHY

Hum... I would probably say that my goal is to keep an open mind and threadbare shoes. I want to see as much of the world as possible, share what I know and learn as much as possible in the process.

I think that competition is a rather silly idea and that the world would benefit a lot from swapping it for emulation. I fight to promote my ideas, not to put my name on them.

Had great experiences as a host in Los Angeles. Still need to try the surfing part.

兴趣

I like to travel, hike and draw and that combination produced a load of outlandish sketches that I hope will continue to grow.
I love to meet different cultures and share history, experience and traditions.

When at home, I like fantasy and Science Fiction : everything that makes it possible to escape to daily connundrum.

音乐、电影和书籍

I mostly like thrillers and fantasy (Willow, Usual Suspects, Memento, most of the Batman movies...) but also movies that delve into culture or history (Departures and The Life of Others for example). Also a big fan of good animation movies (Up and Princess Mononoke at the top).

Music would be baroque and classical, along with rock and jazz. I usually fall quite easily for the soundtracks of movies that I particularly enjoyed.

Mostly heroic/dark fantasy books : Tolkien, Poe, Lovecraft, Pratchett and Gaiman to quote only the most famous. I also enjoy discovering the poetry, mythology and tales of the countries I visit.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Walking, almost alone, in the caldera of an active volcano in Hawai'i. Imagine a barren place, circled by high walls of stone, with piles of rocks looking like the ruins of a antique city crushed by some ancient giants, still smoking from dreadly fires : a moon-like place and yet, here and there, small trees blooming with blood-red flowers. Peace and nature!

Also : driving all across the United States on route 66 : meeting with truckers, bikers, people managing small motels in the middle of nowhere and so many other fantastic people, each with their own story to share!

I'd be happy to teach French and the basics of drawing/sketching. I am also a decent cook and can share a few cool receipes.

I can share a few nice stories about hiking in some US National Parks (see below for a teaser ^^), about France and China, as well as some sketches I made while I was in these places.

I am always interested in reading good travel writing and I would love to learn more about survival skills.
