Kia ora (hello in te Reo Māori), my name is Thomas and I am currently traveling through Spain with my newly wife, Rhiannon. We are on our honeymoon trip from Aotearoa New Zealand, and are spending 3 weeks driving by rental car from Barcelona to Lisbon in Portugal. I am 35 years old, a carpenter by profession, and a follower of Christ. Rhiannon is 25 years old, an amazing artist, an organic vegetable farmer by profession and also a follower of Christ. We were married in January this year and are now here to weave our way through these beautiful countries to experience some of the rich culture and history of Spain and Portugal. We are both mainly vegetarian eaters. I am completely vegetarian and Rhiannon sometimes has a little meat. We are open minded, curious and loving souls that seek to interact with our place of travel through fostering close connections with people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think when people ask me what my favourite aspect of travelling is I will always answer, "meeting new people." Couch Surfing is the best way to meet local people that can show you the true nature of where you're visiting. Not to mention the meeting of two strangers from different parts of the world, coming together and sharing knowledge and forming new friendships.

We both love music! We both sing and I play percussion. Music is one of the greatest arts in life that we view as a means of conveying the divine essence of love and unity in the world. Music transcends ideas of borders, nationality, different languages and unites people in one place, the present moment.
