One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most awe-striking thing that I have ever witnessed was the clear night sky at sea, from a completely unlit ship. The horizon bends with the curvature of the earth and from the apex to the very edge of the horizon line, the sky was packed with stars. I was struck dumb and stood for a half hour looking at the stars.

Later that trip, I saw two orcas chase down and kill a narwhal. For real. The Arctic is crazy.
