Overview
About Me
I enjoy the in's and out's of a culture's activities and the social traditions that each society fosters, but I've come to learn that there is much to be learned by the quiet observation of a place with a cup of a local brew in hand.
I love reading, writing creatively, and sculpting what I can with the resources around me.
PHILOSOPHY
"Trust, but verify" is one of my favorite quotes, and it stands with reason. It's foolish to cower against the world, but equally as foolish to do so blindly. Learn, absorb, and teach, but do so under the watchful eye of intuition and experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has given me the opportunity to meet some incredibly kind and outgoing people, who have in turn impacted me and helped me grow. I want to continue learning, and hopefully, teach and impact others as they have impacted me.
Interests
I enjoy making bread. Sourdoughs, wheat, pretzels, you name it.
My most recent reads include works from Bukowski and Hemingway.
I enjoy a good cup of coffee/tea, or whatever local brewery I can find.
I write poetry and short stories in my free time, and I'm interested in picking up other creative forms.
I graduated with a B.S. in City Planning, and I'm an advocate for safe pedestrian and bicycle transportation.
I've spent a lot of time outdoors and in the wild, growing up as Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and on random excursions with roommates during college. My work schedule affords me the occasional weekend trip to go camping along the cost, or inside large cities to see family and friends.
Lastly, I enjoy learning and practicing yoga. I try to attend at least three times a week and I'm more than willing to teach or be taught.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most recent adventures have been solo hikes and camp outs along the coast of California. This has humbled me, allowing me to appreciate the creature comforts I've known and the luck I have stumbled upon. Being alone in literally awesome places has helped me discover myself in ways I've never imagined.
