I think couchsurfing is an amazing community and a great way to connect with new people from different countries. Some of my fondest memories of traveling meeting new people through this website, and I'm always excited when I get the chance to participate.

I'm more into TV series than movies for some reason, so my favorite currently-running shows are The Expanse, The Handmaid's Tale, Doctor Who, Westworld, and Black Mirror.

As for books, I'm a huge fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman... I actually have a tattoo of the Death of Rats on my leg. I love surreal literature, especially when the Russians decide to get weird on it (Master and Margarita, The Life of Insects).

I like most music, I don't really get too tied to one genre--I generally fall into punk, general rock, pop music, indie, and hip hop, but I'm really not picky.

I helped with a research project in rural Belarus and got to meet amazing people that keep some very old traditions alive, such as music, crafts, and magic (we were specifically there to record local spells and folk religious beliefs).

I love learning new languages and am always trying to figure out my next language. I will happily help someone with German or Russian or learn something from your language!

I cook and bake a lot at home, so I'd love to cook while I'm staying with you! I really enjoy learning about local dishes or even just dishes that aren't local but are new to me.

I can also knit you something if I have enough time to prepare something ahead of time!
