ABOUT ME
David Swan, 23.
"He's a great guy" - Susan Swan
"You ask a lot of questions, don't you" - Billy Corgan
"A lot of potential but lets himself down by distracting others" - Mrs Davidson, Grade Three teacher.
Don't let my grade three teacher fool you, I'm a great guy. I love new experiences and making friends, and I come equipped with a pretty decent (albeit occasionally ridiculous) sense of humour and a love of the finer things in life. And the shitty things too, coz they make the finer things even better.
I'm physically incapable of growing a beard or essentially any facial hair whatsoever, so any hairs you'd like to throw my way would be much appreciated.
I write words about tech for iTWire and words about music for Fasterlouder.
PHILOSOPHY
"Don't be a dick." Wise words, and I live by them religiously.
Interests
Travelling.. obviously! Meeting people and learning what makes them tick... Journalism is my profession so I spend my days talking to people and writing about it. There's nothing better than sitting down with someone and finding out their story. Other passions include music, politics, and a good beer. Actually I change what I said earlier, nothing's better than a good beer. A good chat with someone is a close second.

Music, Movies, and Books
In terms of movies, anything with Daniel Day-Lewis in it, or anything by the Coen Brothers, Tarantino or Wes Anderson.
In terms of music, alt-rock is my forte so think Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stone Age, Deftones, Portugal. The Man, The Smiths. I'm also partial to jazz on occasion, preferably with a whole heap of red wine. I'm also starting to get into old bluesy stuff like Robert Johnson, but I'm at the beginnings of that journey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having a beer as the sun set over the Grand Canyon... doesn't get much better than that. Crowdsurfing at a Japandroids gig in Japan itself, that was rad. And dissecting an impala on safari in South Africa... Surreal.
