ABOUT ME:
I am a playful and creative spirit, most of the time (but other times I will be timid and quite - really depends). A few talented people can really turn my bitchy mode on too (and I’m getting more and more experienced at being bitchy - it is so zen). I am into spiritual healing ✨, intellectual talks, classicals and like to live in attics (pent houses are okay too, though).

I am not a typical Vietnamese. I spent some teenage years in the US. I don't follow a 9-to-5 work schedule and I don't go to work. I don't even know how to ride a scooter anymore 😳. So when you return and your family and friends ask you how Vietnamese people are like, please don’t describe me! I’m warning you!!! 🙄

Right now I dont live with my kids but I am a mother. I hope Couchsurfing is a safe place for me so I can always get back to them.

FAMILY:
I am grand daughter of a famous Vietnamese musician and diplomat (my grandpa), a freedom-fighter and prisoner of war (my grandma), who contributed much in my country's independence. My grandfather composed a famous song that the country sings every August nineteenth. He was one of Vietnam's first radio presenters and was the first person to announce the Declaration of Independence in English. My grandmother was the leader of Vietnam’s first female secret agent group after the country of Vietnam was established.

My family has a small heritage house in Hanoi's old quarter that I like to call it a "museum". It is where we honor our grandparents and a part of Vietnam's history that relates much to my family. The house is not open to public unless upon request or when I invite people over. It is donation-based (I want to get some money to hire someone to kill the giant spider and the cockcroaches that haunt me in the kitchen - sorry it is the old quarter thing 😩). If we do meet, I can tell you about my family story, it is going to be delightful.

WORK:
When I was small, I always dreamt to be a witch (making deadly potions), but then I grew up to be a cosmetic formulator - due to lack of capacity to formulate poisons. So you're safe!

I was one of the first Vietnamese handmade cosmetic makers. I created a couple of youtube videos out of boredom in 2011 showing people how to make DIY cosmetics and suddenly those went viral and started a trend that is still going on. Right now I’m providing product R&D service for indie beauty brands. If you come to my house, you'll see my cosmetic lab.

During my journey of self-teach to make cosmetics, I was so lucky to receive much help and support from experts all over the world. Thanks to all the knowledge I got access to, I was able to publish 4 books, and 2 of them are also published in South Korea and Thailand. 1 on Amazon.

My dream is to travel the world with my beauty ingredient suitcase and make world-inspired cosmetics as I go. I’m trying my best to make this dream come true.

Doing housework. Cooking Vietnamese food (pho and noodle, my mom taught me to make brilliant pho). Entertain you with some Vietnamese songs (or my Grandpa’s famous songs. Even when you dont request, I still do that unconsiously anyway). And most of all, my happy vibe.
