ABOUT ME

I like spontaneous adventures, making things, sleeping in, wandering around with maps, and drinking beverages. While it's important to see the sites, what I like most about traveling is trying new food, seeing new places, and snoozing on a blanket in a new park. I really have an obsession with sand dunes and would love to find one wherever you are!

PHILOSOPHY

Don't take anything too seriously. Especially yourself. At the same time, don't forget to respect time and the people around you.

Right now I would love to sleep on your couch! When I once again have a permanent residence, my couch will be open and welcoming!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have let many people crash as long as I have had a floor of my own - from friends to friends of friends. My favorite experience on the receiving end of a couch was in Italy when some random people in the street let us crash in the middle of the night until our train arrived the next day. It beat our plan to sit in the train station and play kazoos to stay awake. Finding someone who knows the new place you're in and loves showing it to you is always better than just reading your book and following the map.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have driven across the U.S. six times. It only makes me want to find new routes and do it again. Being able to watch the land change makes driving far preferable to flying for me. (actually taking the train is most preferable... carbon footprint and all that).

I know about architecture, real estate and some things about construction/green building. I've been told I am a wealth of random facts. Music is one of my favorite topics of conversation, but I could talk about anything from religion to green building with the right person.
