About Me

Hi! I come from Portugal but I've lived since an early age in Brussels. I love to travel and to meet new people. Currently I'm studying Journalism in Paris. I'm studying Journalism because I like to discover new things. I guess that's also why I love to travel: I like to be far away from the things I know best, to meet new people from different countries and to be face to face with new cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing essentially because I think that in order to really know a country, you have to meet the local people. Staying or meeting with locals allows you to discover things that you wouldn't without them and to unveil a new side of the country that is not normally shown to tourists: how people really live there. That's also what I try to show to people that come to Lisbon: how normal life is here, places that are really nice but that are not on tourist guides, etc...

Interests

I love music (I play guitar and piano), literature, music, sports (especially football) and cinema.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost any kind of music but I have a preference for rock. My favourite bands are The Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, Alabama Shakes, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Pearl Jam. As to books, I especially like Latin American literature and I guess my favourite books are "Conversation in the Cathedral" by Vargas Llosa and "Les Misérables" by Victor Hugo. About movies, I essentially like old movies (like movies from the 60s) and my favorite movie director is François Truffaut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A trip to Peru and Spain with the expedition "Ruta Quetzal" where I camped for 5 weeks with 200 persons from around the world, did a lot of trekking in the Andes mountains and talked a lot with the locals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to talk about music, travelling and art in general (literature, cinema, etc...). I like to learn things from other people's cultures and also to learn their language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk with hosts about portuguese culture, teach them portuguese, cook them some typical portuguese dishes and point them out the best restaurants in Lisbon.
